The Great Concert Hall
The decorative program of the room was probably formulated by architects. To express the Hungarian national style of the time, they chose embellishments inspired by animal and vegetable motifs from the folk art of Transylvania. The chromatic world of the room is dominated by the purple color, harmonized with the purple fabric, as well as the gold that counterbalances the black furniture. The concave, elevated steps of the ceiling of the room create a pleasant dome. On the intervals of rings made of console-shaped elements, we relive popular folk art, tulips branched into pots, rhymes with the decoration of the parapets of the lodges and galleries in the hall. The cracks between the different architectural elements and the metal grates around the large chandelier are not only decoration elements, but also constitute the technical solution that solves the airing of the interior space. The Rieger organ, set above the podium and inaugurated in 1913, perfectly evokes romantic harmony today with its delicate tone.
