Night of the Museums 2018

The Mures County Museum organizes the “Night of the Museums” event in Târgu Mureş on May 18-20, 2018, in partnership with the Mureş County Council, Târgu-Mureş City Hall and 25 other institutions and partner organizations.
The cultural program is part of the international event “European Night of Museums” sponsored by the Council of Europe, UNESCO and the International Council of Museums, where museums open their doors to the culture-loving audience. Due to the rich patrimony and the numerous partners who have joined along the years in Targu Mures, the Night of Museums program extends over three days, preceded by the reopening of the Hungarian Modern Art Gallery, on May 17th, an exhibition that will be enriched with the latest art purchases of the Mures County Museum.
The museums will open their doors on May 19 at 11 o’clock and until 02 o’clock and await visitors with numerous exhibitions and activities of museum pedagogy, film screenings, concerts and competitions, guided visits to cultural points of interest in the city, activities included in – a very varied program.

Unprecedented at this edition of the Museum Night, the audience will have the chance to see the latest acquisition of the museum, a Ford Prefect model of 1953 that will be launched on this occasion. Also this year, Aquaserv Company joins us with the opening of the Water Museum, it will be able to visit the Monastery Church of the Minorites (4, Köteles Sámuel Street), the Church of Saint John the Baptist and the Franciscan Tower from The Rose Market
Entrance to museums and participation in partner programs will be based on bracelets that will cost 6 lei for adults and 3 lei for children, students, pupils and retirees. The bracelet will be purchased once and will allow access to all activities of the event in all locations included in the program, and on Sunday, May 20, the Mureş County Museum sections will be opened after the usual program from 10.00 to 14.00 and the Palace of Culture between from 10.00 to 16.00. The bracelets can be purchased at the Palace of Culture from May 10th, but also during the event, from all sections of the museum and its partners
